‘We have tried to remain warm despite the rules.’ Domestic violence and COVID-19: implications for shelters’ policies and practices

This article presents findings from a study that investigated the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on domestic violence shelters’ policies and practices. was conducted in partnership with feminist organisations two regions Quebec, Canada. Qualitative data were collected nine shelters, using web-based questionnaire. Thematic content analysis NVivo. The research reveal has created significant challenges for as they have had to ensure women’s children’s safety while preventing spread virus. In this context, adapt their services practices, it sometimes been difficult maintain approach. Nonetheless, shelters creative developed multiple strategies overcome these access services. contribute our understanding pandemic, highlight essential role played at time when particularly vulnerable.
